The Rotary name has built up over the last 103 years and has a reputation for building high quality, affordable watches for the masses. 2008 is a year that is set to see Rotary watches take a step back in time to celebrate the history of its company and to recreate some of the watch designs that have made a special place in the public's hearts.
Over the past 103 years there have been, as in all other industries, large numbers of advancements in the technology used to power the watches that we wear today and to create the metals that are used to house the movements that power these watches. This new range of watches quite aptly named the Heritage range by Rotary, aims to put all of these new advancements into watch designs of by gone eras. This unique blend of past and present by Rotary will celebrate the history of the company and will, they hope, engage the consumer enough to buy into this trip down memory lane. They also hope that this will place the Rotary brand into the minds of the younger generation who have become so familiar with other brands such as D&G, Fossil and Guess.
In keeping with the theme of Heritage, Rotary has also launched a small selection of automatic men's watches all of which adhere to the Heritage look and style. Rotary have revisited some of the old favourite designs from the 60's and 70's like the moon phase dial found in the GS02377/01. Rotary have also recreated the timeless skeleton dial which can be seen in the GS02517/21 which really does owe a lot of its design and style to classical watches of the past. The Classical heritage look continues throughout the Rotary watch range.
Rotary have chosen one of the best times to re-introduce some of these oldtime classics. Retro fashion is bang on trend this year with smart casual being the look to go for. The classical nature of the Rotary brand as well as the look of these heritage watches is what will drive fashion watch followers to Rotary over the next year. Rotary's keen pricing will also make many fashion followers much more accepting of wearing a Rotary watch rather than choosing to buy from one of their competitors. Rotary have also launched a range of quartz Heritage watches, the majority of the new watches are aimed at the men's watch market. Watches likes of the new GS02426/09 are style right out of the 1950's and are perfect for 2010 fashion trends. Rotary also added a brand new range of chronograph watches like the GS90020/02 which again looks like it has come straight of a 1950's movie.
2010 looks to have been a renaissance year for the Rotary watch brand. Rotary watches had been one of the biggest losers in the battle against the designer watch companies, losing market position and losing ground on its traditional rivals such as Tissot and Seiko. But this seasons Geek Chic fashion trend, some may say luckily coincided with Rotary watches expansion of a Heritage range has once more placed Rotary watches back on the wrists of both younger and older generations alike. Finally Rotary watch designers have tuned into to what not only the younger generation want but what Rotary watches traditional market wants and this can only be good news for the Rotary watch company this Christmas.
