Founded in 1853 by Charles-Felicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile, Tissot has achieved great success in the watchmaking industry. It was regarded as the innovator among other luxury watch brands since it manufactured a lot of spectacular timepieces that have never been created before.
Compared with other luxury watch brands, Tissot has been known for its use of bizarre materials such as plastic and wood to manufacture watches. All these watches include a plastic watch named IDEA 2201 made in 1971, a stone timepiece named Alpine Granite Rock produced in 1985. a mother of pearl timepiece manufactured in 1987 and one made of wood in 1988.
In the first year of its foundation, the company manufactured the first mass-produced pocket watch as well as the first pocket watch that showed two different time zones, which were well received since their launch into the market.
Then in the year 1929, Tissot unveiled another splendid timepiece-the first anti-magnetic watch.
Since 2005, Tissot has been appointed as the official timekeeper of American car racing series with the cooperation of NASCAR. The company has manufactured a lot of wonderful timepieces for the motor racing, which include the T-Touch NASCAR, the T-Race NASCAR, the T-Tracx NASCAR, and the PR 50 Chronograph NASCAR. Known for its sports watches which are of high precision, Tissot has been the timepiece of motor racing and will go on improving its technic to produce more excellent timepieces.
